The Oldham County Educational Foundation
with the Annual Pyramid Award grants for teachers with innovative ideas that support our students.
the district achieve its educational goals provides needed revenues to elevate the instructional experience of our students.
Did you know that the Oldham County school district is one of the top ranking schools in the state, year after year? Did you also know that our school system receives some of the lowest amount of funding from our state budget? Because of our overall collective wealth in Oldham County, the state does not appropriate the same funds to our schools as they would to a neighboring county with more average income statistics. We believe this overlooks several things—our county is not exclusive to high income, ALL students deserve the highest level of education, and it is our community responsibility to uphold the quality of our schools despite any under-funding.
Since 1989, the purpose of the Oldham County Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is to make up the gap between our top ranking school’s needs, and what is funded by the state. We foster community, parent, and business support for the students, teachers and parents of Oldham County Schools. Our mission is to raise funds to elevate the public education experience for Oldham County Schools students and use those funds in ways that will DIRECTLY impact the classroom.
By working closely with the Superintendent of Oldham County Schools and others, the needs of the school district and OCEF’s fundraising focus areas are defined each year. Oldham County Educational Foundation’s investment in students, teachers and parents has resulted in programs that are truly empowering – creating environments that set Oldham County schools apart.
