Oldham County Preschool

Preschool sets the stage for all other school success! In Oldham County, we are lucky not only to have a public preschool, but to have an award-winning preschool, Oldham County Preschool! The school supports the philosophy and principles of active learning, positive adult-child interactions, a child-friendly learning environment, and a consistent daily routine. It is a needs-based parent-involvement preschool (3 years and up) which provides services to children within federal poverty guidelines, to children with disabilities, and to preschoolers who have learning development needs. The mission of the OC Preschool program is to provide comprehensive learning and social experiences that prepare these children to enter kindergarten and progress successfully through the school district’s curriculum and learning programs.

The Preschool emphasizes active learning, positive adult-child interactions, a child-friendly learning environment, and a consistent daily routine. The school offers 10 classrooms, meals, transportation for each student, and half and full day programs.

All children are fully integrated into the program receiving needed services during the school day. Teachers work closely with specialists to provide an appropriate and individualized program for each child. Oldham County Preschool currently employs an ARC Chair/ resource teacher, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.
